Menorca 1 - Fly & Drive
Minorca is linked
by air and
sea
to the rest of the Balearic Islands, as well as the Spanish peninsula and main European
cities. During the tourist season, the availability of transport services to the
island is much wider, via both air and sea.
Minorca airport is located five kilometres from Maó. The main
air companies
operate from Barcelona, Madrid, València, Palma or London. The
charter flights
enlarge the network of connections with Europe.
By sea,
connections with the Spanish peninsula operate between Maó and
Barcelona, Palma and València, and one service from Ciutadella to Alcúdia and Cala
Ratjada, two towns in the north of Majorca.
To travel around the island of Minorca and explore the villages, the island has regular
bus services
that link the main urban nuclei of the island, and at the same time allow
access to the main beaches, such as Punta Prima, es Grau and Fornells.
If one prefers to travel around the island
by car,
Minorca possesses a road network consisting of two main axis roads,
linking Maó and Ciutadella and from these main arteries are smaller linking roads to
the rest of the island's villages.
